Holycross 4 - Rearcross U-13's 0

Rearcross travelled to Glenbane for this league encounter against Holycross and dominated proceeding for the 1st 5 minutes but struggled to put any pressure on the Holycross Keeper. Holycross came more into the game after this initial period of pressure and started to take control of proceedings. Rearcross were unlucky after 10 minutes when Stephen Rochford ran from within his own half, past 4 Holycross players to be denied just shooting wide from outside the Holycross box. Holycross broke from midfield 2 minutes later and the ball was slipped through to Stephen Quinlan their No. 9 to slot the ball past Cathal Kennedy to give the home side a 1 nil lead. Rearcross seemed to drop their heads after going behind and again after 15 minutes of play Holycross broke again from midfield to slip the ball through to the Holycross No. 10 to slot home. Rearcross failed to get any foothold on the game during this period and after 23 minutes the Holycross No. 23 scored after some defensive errors to give the home side a 3 nil lead going in at half time.
Rearcross came out in the 2nd half and took complete control of the game for the 1st 10 minutes lead by Stephan Rochford in midfield. Unfortunately though the Rea boys could find no way of breaking down the Holycross defence who dominated all through proceedings. The whole of the 2nd half was evenly contested between the 2 sides but with only 2 minutes remaining the Holycross No. 23 scored a great goal in the top corner of the Rearcross net to give the home side a 4 nil victory. For all the 4 goals scored Cathal Kennedy had no chance and couldn't be faulted for his efforts.

Congratulations to Holycross(players and management) who were awarded the league cup after the game with no losses during the campaign.
